D'Angelo Russell Named NBA All-Star Reserve
Nets Guard to Make First All-Star Appearance
Brooklyn, NY - February 1, 2019 - 4:14 PM EST
The NBA announced today that Brooklyn Nets guard D'Angelo Russell has been named a reserve for the 2019 NBA All-Star Game. This will be Russell's first career All-Star appearance.
Russell has been one of the most consistent players in the NBA this season, averaging 19.3 points, 6.9 assists, and 3.6 rebounds per game. He has also been a key part of the Nets' resurgence this season, helping the team to a 34-18 record, which is good for fourth place in the Eastern Conference.
Russell's selection to the All-Star team is a testament to his hard work and dedication. He has worked his way from being a second-round pick in the 2015 NBA Draft to becoming one of the best young players in the league. He is a rising star and a bright spot for the future of the Nets.
Russell will join Nets teammate Caris LeVert on the All-Star team. LeVert was named a reserve last week, making this the first time the Nets have had two All-Stars since 2009.
The 2019 NBA All-Star Game will be held on Sunday, February 17th, at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
