Ryan Gosling Is a Lover and a Stunt Fighter in Surprisingly Romantic Reboot of 80s Action Show

'The Fall Guy' Gets Rave Early Reviews After CinemaCon Debut

Praise Focuses on Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt's Chemistry, Action Sequences

Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt take on the titular roles in Universal Pictures' upcoming action-comedy film, The Fall Guy. The film is a reboot of the popular 1981-1986 television series of the same name and follows the adventures of Colt Seavers (Gosling), a Hollywood stuntman who teams up with an investigative journalist (Blunt) to uncover a conspiracy surrounding the death of a fellow stunt performer.

Early reviews from the premiere screening at SXSW have been highly positive, with critics praising the film's humor, action sequences, and the chemistry between Gosling and Blunt. Variety called the film "a love letter to stunt performers" and said that "Gosling and Blunt are perfectly matched." The Hollywood Reporter said that the film is "a well-crafted action-comedy with a lot of heart" and that "Gosling and Blunt are both excellent in their roles."

The Fall Guy is directed by David Leitch, who previously directed John Wick, Atomic Blonde, and Deadpool 2. The film is produced by Kelly McCormick, p.g.a., and David Leitch, p.g.a., for 87North Productions.

With action comedy romance and a pair of marvelously matched stars The Fall Guy might be the first great popcorn movie of the year.
